Job Summary
Hi Tech Data Group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Ethical Hacker to join our Cyber Security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying security vulnerabilities, conducting penetration testing, performing security assessments, and helping clients strengthen their security posture against evolving cyber threats.
The Ethical Hacker will work closely with internal teams and clients to deliver professional cyber security services, including Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), security audits, and incident response support.
Key Responsibilities
Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Assessments
- Conduct web application, mobile application, network, wireless, cloud, and infrastructure penetration testing.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and identify security weaknesses across client environments.
- Simulate cyber-attacks to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls.
- Validate security vulnerabilities and assess their business impact.
Security Audits & Assessments
- Carry out security reviews of systems, applications, and networks.
- Assess compliance with industry standards and security best practices.
- Review firewall configurations, access controls, and security policies.
- Support cyber security risk assessments and gap analysis exercises.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed technical and executive-level security assessment reports.
- Document findings, risk ratings, proof-of-concepts, and remediation recommendations.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients and management.
Security Research & Threat Intelligence
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
- Research new penetration testing methodologies and security tools.
- Contribute to the development of internal cyber security frameworks and testing procedures.
Incident Response Support
- Assist in cyber incident investigations and forensic examinations.
- Support digital forensics activities where required.
- Help identify root causes and recommend corrective actions following security incidents.
Client Engagement
- Work directly with clients to understand security requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Participate in cyber security awareness sessions and client presentations.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- eJPT (Junior Penetration Tester)
- PNPT (Practical Network Penetration Tester)
- OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional)
- CompTIA Security+
- CISSP (Advantageous)
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking, and security architectures.
- Experience conducting penetration tests on web applications, networks, APIs, and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and common attack vectors.
- Experience using security tools such as:
- Burp Suite
- Nmap
- Metasploit
- Wireshark
- Nessus
- OpenVAS
- Kali Linux
- BloodHound
- Mimikatz
- Understanding of Windows, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud security.
- Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
Experience Requirements
- Experience with digital forensics or incident response is an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in cyber security, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, or ethical hacking.
- Experience performing Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) engagements.
- Experience in preparing professional security assessment reports.
